Statement from Zilker 351 on Austin City Council's Vote to Place the 2026 Bond (Prop A) on the November Ballot

Today's unanimous City Council vote gives Austin voters the opportunity to decide whether to invest in the parks, trails, waterways, and public spaces that make our city so special. The parks bond will appear on the November ballot as Proposition A.

We are grateful to the Mayor and entire City Council for their thoughtful leadership throughout this process and for today's unanimous support.

We also thank the City Manager, the Parks and Recreation Department, Capital Delivery Services, and the many City staff members whose hard work and dedication helped shape this proposal.

"Today's vote is an important milestone for Austin's parks," said Hayden Brooks, co-founder of Zilker 351 and chair of its Governance Committee. "We're grateful that voters have the opportunity to decide whether to make this investment in Austin's parks. We look forward to working with community partners and residents to help ensure our parks remain healthy, welcoming, and accessible for generations to come. We hope everyone who enjoys Austin's parks will vote YES on Proposition A this November."
