With support from Leadership Austin and Austin Together, they formed the Zilker Collective Impact Working Group, which later established Zilker 351 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Zilker 351 has not yet established a partnership agreement to support APR's work but plans to explore this through APR's Community PARKnership program. APR will continue to manage, operate, and oversee Zilker Park, which will always remain public parkland. ## Who does what — the distinction matters - **Zilker Park** is the 351-acre public park. Permits, maintenance, rules, closures, reservations and facility rentals all go to APR at 512-974-6700 or via austintexas.gov. - **Zilker 351** is an independent 501(c)(3) that supports the park through stewardship, access, history and community partnership. It does not operate the park, does not handle reservations or rentals, and cannot dispatch park maintenance. Most events are hosted by those partners, not by Zilker 351, and each listing links to the host's official registration. The Monarch Party in Zilker Park (https://www.zilker351.org/events/monarch-party) is a Zilker 351–hosted event: a free, family-friendly celebration of butterflies, wildflowers, and native pollinators. Families can get their faces painted, make native-wildflower seed balls that are planted in Zilker Park's historic wildflower meadow (which Zilker 351 is restoring as monarch habitat), weave flower crowns, and join a butterfly parade.
